Danny Polfliet, known professionally as Danny Vera, is a Dutch, Americana singer and songwriter. A native of Middleburg, he started his first band at the age of 22. Named Till Dawn, the band won the 'Zeeuwse Belofte' award at the Grote Prijs van Nederland (Grand Prix of the Netherlands). Vera continued performing with Till Dawn for a while before signing a solo record deal with Universal Music in 2002. He made his debut in 2003 with the album For the Light in You Eyes. Despite the track "My Confession" doing well in other countries, the album failed to do well in the Netherlands and Vera was soon dropped by his label. He continued to work on new music and issued his next album Hold on a While in 2005. His third album Ordinary Man, released in 2007, featured collaborations with Tren Van Enckevort, Leona and Hans Dagelet. This was followed by the release of the albums Pink Flamingo, Distant Rumble and The Outsider. Some of Vera's most popular songs include the numbers "Roller Coaster," "Oblivious Desire," "Distant Rumble," "Pompadour Hippie," "Bye Bye Eddie," "Hold On a While" and "Stars Align."
