The Buttertones is a California-based rock band formed in 2012. It was initially created by Richard Araiza, Modeste Cobián and Sean Redman who met at Hollywood's Musicians Institute in 2011. After releasing its self-titled, cassette debut via Lollipop in 2013, the band developed into a five-piece outfit with the arrival of Dakota Böttcher and London Guzmán. Its second album American Brunch was published in 2015, and The Buttertones signed with Innovative Leisure the following year. Its third album Gravedigging, featuring the single "Matador," dropped in early 2017 and was met with unanimously positive reviews. A year later, the band released its fourth album Midnight in a Moonless Dream before embarking on a supporting tour of Europe and North America.
