Hands

Formed in Los Angeles in the late 2000s, Hands plays a pretty straight-forward version of modern indie rock that balances sonic experimentation with a strong melodic sensibility. The four-piece takes cues from the jittery rhythms of post-punk and mellows them out a tad with layers of warm keyboards, twinkly guitars and clanking percussion. Lead singer, Geoffrey Halliday possesses an interesting and somewhat dramatic voice that lends itself well to the group's music, offering a unique sense of vocal and melodic tone to the songs that makes Hands stand out a bit from the surplus of bands making a similar style of music.
