North Mississippi Allstars is a Southern/blues-rock jam band from Hernando, Mississippi that saw its fame meteorically rise in the year 2000 with the release of its debut record, Shake Hands With Shorty, which was subsequently nominated for a Grammy Award for "Best Contemporary Blues Album." The North Mississippi Allstars would ride this tremendous wave of success throughout much of the 2000s, earning the band multiple television guest spots and a short run as the in-house band for the late night show Last Call With Carson Daly. Having now settled into a steady groove of success with a substantial and loyal fan base, the North Mississippi Allstars is already looking to go down in history as one of the legendary bands of blues-rock.
