Christopher Street Day has become the talk of the town and attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators every year. The Lesbisch-Schwules Stadtfest (Gay and Lesbian Street Party) on the other hand, is a bit more of an insider's tip, but even this attracts tens of thousands of visitors. Every June the streets around Nollendorfplatz are lined with stalls run by everything from lesbian travel agencies to gay police officers' self-help groups. Apart from the booming techno and house music, there are numerous cocktail bars, snack bars and two stages offering live music, theater and political talk.
