Born and raised in Carlton, Bedfordshire, Alfie Templeman began his musical journey at the young age of seven years when he began to take drum lessons. Teaching himself how to play his father's guitars and a host of other instruments, he began to "make CDs" with his friends at age ten. By the time he was 13, he had already learnt how to use production software and started composing his own songs. He would upload his music on Spotify before signing with indie music label Chess Club, and at age 15 he released his first single "Orange Juice," quickly followed by his debut EP Like an Animal in 2018. Since then, Alfie has performed live at several prominent music festivals and has played support for artists like Sundara Karma and Sports Team. Self-styled as an "indie R&B" artist, Templeman's music an ever-evolving mix of lively instrumentals and melodic vocals, most, if not all, performed by Alfie himself. When performing live, he is backed by a band made up of his friends; the same friends he jammed with as a child.
