Originally formed in 1933, the Sons of the Pioneers is a Western singing group that set a new standard for American vocal groups. Beginning in its early days and all throughout the mid-1980s, the band appeared in various cowboy films and television shows, rising to fame with its distinctive songwriter style. Though all the original members have since passed away, the group has always been carried over by a surviving member of the group, so that The Sons of Pioneers has endured into the 21st century as a pillar of Americana culture.
