After Belinda Carlisle graduated high school, she began drumming for the Los Angeles punk rock group The Germs for a brief stint before becoming the lead singer of The Go-Go's, who produced hit after hit with songs like "Our Lips Are Sealed" and "Vacation." But one can't ignore the string of singles Carlisle began to release in 1985 after the break-up of The Go-Go's, especially not the quintessential 1980s song "Heaven is a Place on Earth" that ushered in the new Belinda Carlisle replacing her blonde bob with straight brown locks. In 2010 Carlisle became an author when she released the tell-all-autobiography Lips Unsealed.
