Jon Dore is a comedian and actor from Ontario who got his start performing at talent and open mic nights on the Ottawa club circuit. As the co-host of Rogers Television's series Daytime, he earned acclaim for his improvisation skills and was awarded the Impression Award for Best On-Air Personality in 2001. After his three year stint with the show, Dore became best known as a correspondent on Canadian Idol and began appearing on his own comedy specials on CTV and The Comedy Network. He received his own television series titled, The Jon Dore Television Show, on The Comedy Network and the show lasted for two seasons from 2007 to 2009. As he became familiar with a US audience on several North American tours, Dore began appearing on shows such as Comedy Central's Live at Gotham, How I Met Your Mother and as the first featured comedian on Conan.
