Pop-punk band The Queers formed in 1984, its name allegedly deriving from an intention to make fun of the "art fag" scene in the band's native New Hampshire. While the group had a rocky start and broke up almost immediately after formation, the front man, Joe Queer, restarted the band in 1990 and, despite a consistent lineup change, has been producing fairly tame and palatable punk rock about girls, alcohol and partying since then.
