Romanischer Sommer, or Romanesque Summer, is held each year in Cologne in June. It is series of concerts over several days, culminating with a special event at the St. Maria im Kapitol Church. The final concert is a concept combining music, light and the architecture of the Church, presented by the Cologne association of Romanesque churches, WDR TV, the Kulturamt Köln & the British Council. 'Tradition auf Experiment' is the motto, with old music meeting new. Several different pieces are presented over the course of four hours. It is a mixture of generations and epochs.
