Lenny Williams is a singer/songwriter from Little Rock, Arkansas who is probably best known as the lead vocalist for the popular R&B group Tower of Power in the 1970s. After moving to Oakland, California at a young age, Williams began learning how to play the trumpet--helping stoke his fire of curiosity in music. Gaining experience by singing in a gospel choir, he would go on to work with notable talent like Sly Stone and Billy Preston. Williams joined Tower of Power in 1972 and helped establish the group before leaving three years later to focus on his solo endeavors. He has since kept up a fairly regular touring and recording schedule.
