The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is a symphony orchestra based in out of the largest city in the Lone Star State that has its beginnings in 1900 with a concert given by 40 local musicians led by the conductor Hans Kreissig. The orchestra experienced tremendous growth and popularity over the years that followed, and in 1945, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra was able to appoint famed conductor Antal Dorati as its music director. Since then, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra has continued to grow in respect and popularity among local concert-goers and classical music enthusiasts throughout the world, with it's award-winning 2005 recording of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerti with Steven Hough being compared to the performances given by the composer himself.
