China Crisis is a pop/rock band from the UK that creates pop music with new wave and post punk influences. Formed in 1979 the band signed with Virgin Records and released its debut album Difficult Shapes & Passive Rhythms Some People Think It's Fun to Entertain, in 1982. The album peaked at number 21 on the UK Albums chart and featured the band's first hit single "African & White." China Crisis' most successful album, Flaunt the Imperfection, released in 1985, was the band's only album to peak in the top ten, reaching number nine on the UK Albums chart. The band focused on live performances through the 1990s and continue to perform into the 2000s, with vocalist and keyboardist Gary Daly and guitarist Eddie Lundon as its only original and consistent members.
