Every year on November 11, St. Martin's Day, the Düsseldorf Carnival's popular character - Hoppeditz, rises at 11:11 am from his deep slumber. Creeping out of a mustard pot, the Hoppeditz delivers a remarkably funny and sharp speech in front of everyone gathered. The Hoppeditz' Erwachen is followed by a vibrant cultural program featuring some of the most popular bands of the region.
Please note that for 2020 the festivities have moved online.
