Icelandic jazz-funk band Mezzoforte was formed in 1977 by Eyþór Gunnarsson, Jóhann Ásmundsson, Gunnlaugur Briem-Gulli Briem and Friðrik Karlsson. It signed with the record label Steinar and released its self-titled debut album in 1979. Its fourth album Sprellifandi – Live at the Dominion, released in 1983, featured its biggest hit "Garden Party," which peaked at number 17 in the UK. Among its other top songs are the tracks "Cruisin'," "Tribute," "Garden Party," "Hardwired," "Angel Town" and "Time Out."
