The Ocean is a progressive and experimental metal band from Berlin, Germany. After being found in 2000 by guitarist and songwriter Robin Staps, about 40 musicians joined and left the band until a stable line-up was established by July 2002.The Ocean's music combines elements of progressive metal and electronic soundscapes; the band often refers to their work as "ambient soundtrack doomrock". At their live shows The Ocean use complex light show equipment, making their shows even more impressive.
