Travis is a post-Britpop band that emerged out of Glasgow, Scotland, in 1990. Often cited as pioneers for other pop-infused alternative rock outfits such as Coldplay and Keane, the band slowly payed its dues around the UK music scene, releasing a handful of poorly received soft rock records before solidifying a harder style and dropping its debut album, Good Feeling, in 1997. Working with iconic Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, the band recorded and released its sophomore effort, The Man Who, in 1999, bringing back its softer, more melancholy-powered sound, though this time to mass commercial appeal. Though the band's mainstream reputation has faded since the early 2000s, Travis continues offer new material, such as the 2013 LP Where You Stand, to its dedicated fan base.
