Few female singers or songwriters were as widely-acclaimed or influential as Stevie Nicks was in the last quarter of the 20th Century. Both as a solo artist and with her renowned classic rock group, Fleetwood Mac, her body of work has inspired several generations worth of artists, including Sheryl Crow, the Dixie Chicks, Sarah McLachlan, Courtney Love and Tori Amos, to name a few. With over 140 million albums sold and 40 hit singles to her name, her resume speaks for itself and is reflective of the prolific career she's enjoyed. Born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1948, Nicks entered the music world in 1974 when she joined Fleetwood Mac with her then boyfriend, Lindsey Buckingham. Her talents were quickly recognized by the band and she helped its 1977 album, Rumours, become a huge success by penning the songs, "Dreams" and "Gold Dust Woman." Furthermore, her 1975 hit, "Landslide" is arguably the band's most well-known track, having been covered countless times over the years. Since 1981, Nicks has maintained an illustrious solo career that has touched on folk, rock, ballads and straightforward pop material. She continues to tour occasionally and most recently hit the studio once again to release In Your Dreams in 2011.
