Tyler Ramsey is a modern folk artist who emerged out of the tight-knit community of Asheville, NC. Though he is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist, he is best-known for his work on guitar, particularly his intricate finger picking that lends the melancholy edge to his country-blues-infused music. Ramsey released his eponymous debut solo album in 2004, before joining Band of Horses in 2007 and helping to establish the group as a mainstay in the crowded world of indie folk. While he continues to release new material with the group, he has also built his own solo repertoire with records such as 2008's A Long Dream About Swimming Across the Sea, which he released with Echo Mountain Records.
