Alynda Lee Segarra was a vagrant train hopper before she decided to settle in Louisiana at the age of 18. While traversing the country, she would write songs to keep herself occupied on the open road. When she was finally able to plant her feet down in a single area she managed to find three other like-minded individuals and together they formed Hurray for the Riff Raff. Segarra sings with a deep voice against gentle accompaniments from unique instruments like the banjo, accordion and cello on the group's 2010 debut Young Blood Blues.
