Hal Sparks is a comedian, actor and musician from Cincinnati who is best known as a television personality on VH1 and the lead singer of the rock band ZERO 1. He landed his breakthrough gig with E!'s Talk Soup in 1999 but became widely recognizable after appearing in VH1's I Love the '70s in 2003. He went on to appear in the several more similar segments including I Love the '80s, I Love the '90s, I Love Toys, and l Love the New Millennium. As an actor Sparks appeared on several television series including his five year run with Queer As Folk on Showtime as Michael Novotny for the duration of the show's run from 2000 to 2005.
