John McCutcheon is a folk singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who is renowned for his finesse with the hammered dulcimer, though he is proficient on several instruments, including the guitar, banjo, autoharp and fiddle. He released his debut album How Can I Keep From Singing?, in 1975 with June Appal Recordings, and has since built an extensive catalog of records that span a broad spectrum of styles, from traditional folk to heartland rock and children's music to soft rock ballads.
