During the early 1990s, the English rock group Cast was considered one of the more important bands to be creating music. The group's unpretentious, Britpop style with memorable choruses and catchy guitar riffs resounded well with fans of straightforward rock music. Formed in 1992, Cast was an underground phenomena for a few years before being recognized as a formidable talent by A&R men for the powerful record label Polydor--which helped release the group's 1995 debut LP, All Change. Though never really catching on or landing a sizable fan base in the United States, Cast was one of the more popular groups in England throughout the 1990s. After the band released its poorly received 2001 album, though, the members of Cast decided to part ways and concentrate on their respective solo endeavors. But after about 10 years, the four guys in the group decided it was due time to get back together and breathe life into Cast once again. Playing a number of intimate shows and festival appearance in 2010 and 2011 proved to audiences that the spark that made the group so dynamic in its heyday was and still is present, and as as the group continues with plans for its reformation, its reformed self will no doubt continue to create pertinent and powerful modern rock material.
