Michigan-based group The Detroit Cobras is a garage rock cover band that offers gritty versions of rock and roll, soul and Motown hits from decades past. Unlike most cover bands, The Detroit Cobras is signed to Sympathy Records and has consistently released records starting with its 1994 debut single,"Village of Love." After releasing its second full-length album Life, Love & Leaving, in 2001 the band earned praise from UK and US audiences for their retro renditions of Otis Redding's "Shout Bama Lama," the Ronettes' "He Did It" and Ike and Tina Turner's "Can't Miss Nothing," sounding like a cover band from the same era as its subjects.
