Reverend and the Makers is an indie rock band from Sheffield, England that earned critical and commercial success through word of mouth and self-promotion around the South Yorkshire area. Formed in 2005 and helmed by John McClure, the group was eventually noticed by industry insiders after playing a number of well received shows around its hometown and was signed to Wall of Sound records. Reverend and the Makers released its debut album The State of Things, in 2007 with songs co-written and performed with Arctic Monkey's front man Alex Turner. The band went on to tour with the Arctic Monkeys and other world renowned acts like Oasis, simultaneously collecting an international audience. After a brief hiatus, Reverend an the Makers released its third studio album @Reverend_Makers, in 2012.
