Known as Turboneger in its native state of Norway, the punk rock band Turbonegro combines glam punk and hard rock music. Formed in 1989, the band released five albums starting with 1992 release Hot Cars and Spent Contraceptives, before breaking up in 1998. Having released the supposed first installment of a supposed three-part Apocalypse trilogy, titled Apocalypse Dudes, prior to disbanding, Turbonegro built its fan base while on hiatus with simple anticipation. The band learned of the growing interest in its music and signed a two-album deal with Burning Heart Records to finish its trilogy. Scandinavian Leather was released in 2003 followed by Party Animals in 2005, but Turbonegro kept recording and touring internationally despite completing its promised collection of albums as well as the departure of its long-time lead vocalist Hank von Helvete in 2010.
