Lille OSC, also known as LOSC or Les Dogues, is a French football club which was founded in 1944. Regarded as one of the most successful French clubs, it has several Ligue 1, Ligue 2 and Coupe de France titles to its credit. LOSC has endured several financial problems and has been relegated to Ligue 2 since its creation. Yet in 2000, Les Dogues moved to Ligue 1, and faces opponents at the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium. The stadium is one of the five largest stadiums in France with 50,186 seats. The official team colors are, like many French teams, red and blue. The logo features a fleur de lys and a dog, "le dogue," hence its nickname, Les Dogues. Several notable former players include Eric Abidal, Yohan Cabaye, Rio Mavuba, Florent Balmont and Salomon Kalou. LOSC TV is its official TV network, and "Salut aux LOSC," is the club's anthem.
