Alabama 3 is an alternative band from the UK that incorporates elements of rock, country, gospel, blues and acid house into its sound. Besides being known for its genre-fusing music, the seven-piece is also recognizable for using individual aliases and putting on humorous, often ironic shows. The band released its debut album Exile on Coldharbour Lane, in 1997, but truly rose to fame with the release of its hit single "Woke Up This Morning." The song earned Alabama 3 international recognition when it was selected by the producer's of HBO television series The Sopranos for the show's opening credits. Famous across the UK and the US, the band continues to release records such as 2011's Shoplifting 4 Jesus.
