Inverness is an alternative rock band from Chile that released its debut single, "Escarabajo" in 2009 to both critical acclaim and Chilean radio airplay--securing Inverness a place in the country's alternative rock scene. With the release of Inverness' debut album Illuminaciones later that year, critics came to know the band as one the most original producers of Chilean alternative rock, with songs that have a decidedly experimental texture, held together and kept interesting by the album's strong narrative structure. As icing on the cake for one of Chile's most promising up-and-coming acts, songs from the album were used for the Chilean film "The Life of Fish" in 2010.
