New York City-born emcee, poet and musician Saul Williams is a leading slam poet and has worked in a dynamic capacity with music as well. Working alongside Nine Inch Nails' producer Trent Reznor, Williams recorded two records with his help--both of which showcased Williams' love of hip-hop, punk, metal and electronic music. Williams continues to do poetry readings, though the majority of Williams' work has been music-related. Williams is an outspoken activist against war, and takes up social, political and economic themes frequently in both his poetry and his music.
