The glam metal outfit Heaven's Edge initially emerged out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1987. After releasing its self-titled debut album with Columbia Records in 1990, the group broke up for the first time but reformed to release its sophomore album Some Other Place Some Other Time, in 1999. As the mainstream musical landscape continued to shift further away from adrogynous hard rock, Heaven's Edge officially disbanded in 2002. While the group has refrained from recording any new material, Heaven's Edge began to play sporadic live performances and eventually re-built its notoriety to plays some of the world's largest music festivals, such as 2013's Firefest Festival in the UK and 2014's M3 Rock Festival in the US.
