Oscar D'Leon is a world-renowned Venezuelan musician, whose salsa music has gained international recognition throughout the span of a 35-year career. Leon began playing in local bands during his youth in Caracas and his command of the double bass, matched with his singing abilities and incredible energy, led to success within his own country. He is known as El Sonero del Mundo, or "the Son Singer of the World," and his vibrant personality and fiery talent have kept him performing over the years. He no longer plays the bass, due to its cumbersome nature, but he continues to sing and now operates a charity organization called Operation Smile.
