Scandinavian Hjemkomst & Midwest Viking Festival celebrates those things that contribute to the richness of the Nordic culture. With its every edition, the organizers have successfully an atmosphere which transforms the visitors to a distant fair taking place in a Scandinavian county. The festival carries the aroma of aebleskiver, smoked salmon, lefse and other delights from the Nordic cuisine. A fleet of international chefs, storytellers, vendors and entertainers helps visitors in exploring the Nordic Culture in unique ways. The other facet of this festival is the Viking village. A great amount of effort is put into making it feel like a real Viking village. It features artisans selling rare Viking artifacts, archery range, staged battles, food and drink revolving around the Viking theme and much more.
