Davy Knowles was born 1986 in Port St. Mary, Isle of Man, a small island situation between Ireland and Great Britain. He fell in love with music one day when his father put on a Dire Straits cassette in the car. Knowles heard "Sultans of Swing" and immediately taught himself the song on the guitar at home. In 2005, he formed the band Back Door Slam, whose debut album, Roll Away, was released in 2007. Davy decided to leave the band and start a solo career in 2009. This blues guitarist/singer pulls from influences like Eric Clapton and Celtic rock artist, Rory Gallagher.
