Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Concert Hall - The New York Society For Ethical Culture
Since its initial formation in Long Beach, CA in 1966, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has undergone a series of lineup changes over the years while maintaining its country rock-flavored folk sound. Among the band's extensive discography, which started with its 1967 self-titled studio album, the band's most successful albums include volumes one and two of Will the Circle Be Unbroken, collaborations that were released in 1972 and 1989 respectively, as well as 1970's Uncle Charlie & His Dog Teddy, which spawned a hit cover version of Jerry Jeff Walker's "Mr. Bojangles." With original member Jeff Hanna and Jimmie Fadden at the helm, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band continues to release records, including 2009's Speed of Life, and perform live across the US.
