Random Hand is a ska band from West Yorkshire, England that got its start in 2002 by performing at local house parties and clubs to crowds that proved to be significantly impressed with the quartet's sound. Although typically associated with the punk sub-genre due to the band's traditionally socio-political and anti-establishment lyrics, the members of Random Hand have recently taken a more personal approach to their music as showcased on the band's second album, Inhale/Exhale, released in 2009. Although some see the band's transition into a more mainstream musical paradigm as being in conflict with their roots and fan base, many more feel that Random Hand's stylistic switch not only opens up their sound to a wider variety of influences, but also allows the band members to explore their own unique talents and ideas without being tied to any one particular ideology.
