William Tyler is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Nashville, Tennessee who has served as somewhat of a hired gun to play guitar with well known indie acts like Silver Jews and Lambchop. Though Tyler is at home serving as a backing musician, he has also stepped out with his own solo endeavors, where he is able to command and dictate the tone and flow of the music. Releasing his debut LP, Behold the Spirit, in 2010, Tyler's songs reveal defined folk and country influences--no doubt a byproduct of his rearing in Nashville, helping distinguish him as a songwriter who's comfortable creating songs with thoughtful consideration to folk's forefathers and modern, indie-flavored material.
