The original lead singer/songwriter and bassist of Wishbone Ash, Martin Turner left the band after issues with management and irreconcilable differences with co-founder and guitarist Andy Powell. Martin had his own vision for the band and a decade after he left Wishbone for the last time, Martin formed the Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash with guitarists Keith Bush, guitarist Ray Hatfield and drummer Rob Hewins. The band's debut release was a set of live recordings titled New Live Dates Vol. 1 and 2, released subsequently in 2006 and 2007, which consisted of classic Wishbone Ash material as well as lesser known songs. Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash released its studio album Argus Through the Looking Glass, a re-recording of the Wishbone Ash album Argus, in 2008.
