Jim Messina is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose long career has served to establish him as a iconic musician with a revered discography. Joining the seminal country rock outfit Buffalo Springfield in the late-1960s, after the group disbanded Messina would go on to form the folk-influenced band Poco with Buffalo Springfield founding member Richie Furay. After being introduced to singer/songwriter Kenny Loggins in 1970, the two struck up a musical friendship that produced a number of well-received soft rock albums throughout the 1970s. Messina would eventually release his debut album, Oasis, in 1979 and since then he has kept active, releasing additional LPs and touring.
