In Portuguese, Cansei de Ser Sexy's name translates to "tired of being sexy." Listening to the funky indie pop songs of the Sao Paulo, Brazil group (whose name is usually shortened to CSS), however, would seem to offer a different opinion. Tracks such as "Alala" and "Let's Make Love and Listen to Death From Above" are full of slinky grooves, rubbery funk-inspired bass lines and lead singer, Lovefoxxx's sultry vocals. The band attracts a lot of indie music fans due to its injection of modern electropop touches and occasional indie rock guitar work. Some critics may see the group's flamboyant stage presence and party anthems as a little too tongue-in-cheek, but listeners just looking for something fun and hip to dance to probably couldn't care less about that anyway.
