The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble is proud to present The Tapcracker, Philadelphia's homegrown all tap version of the Nutcracker. Set to the music of both Tchaikovsky and Duke Ellington, The Tapcracker transports audiences to Paris, where an infestation of rats has thrown the city into chaos. Toy soldiers guard the Eiffel Tower, mice wreak havoc in the Metro, and frazzled chefs prepare for a feast at the magical palace of Versailles, featuring characters from the beloved Land of the Sweets.
The Tapcracker features The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble's First Company, Apprentice Dancers, and our Youth Ensemble, comprised of talented students from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
The lobby will open 30 minutes prior to each performance with merchandise available to purchase during intermission and after the show. All merchandise proceeds benefit The Lady Hoofers Tap Ensemble. Concessions will be provided by Suzanne Roberts Theatre, including alcoholic beverages.
Run time: 90 minutes including a 15 minute intermission
NEW THIS YEAR: The Tapcracker Meet & Greet (& Eat!) - During checkout, you may also purchase tickets to join us on Saturday, December 9 before the matinee performance for an exclusive reception with some of your favorite characters from the Land of the Sweets. Attendees will create a holiday craft, enjoy light refreshments (including hot cocoa for kids and champagne for grown ups!), and get early access to our lobby and photo stations. This ticketed event is for children ages 3-10 and their adult caregivers.
