The annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia, PA, is one of the most-loved traditions of the city. Considered among the oldest such parades in the country, it was first organized in November 1920. Like other events of its kind, it features floats, marching bands and live performances. Over the years, numerous big names such as beauty pageant winners and casts of musicals have performed at this event. The 1.4 miles (2.25 kilometers) long parade kicks off from 19th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard, and makes its way through the city before ending in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
