Tommy Tiernan is a comedian, actor and writer from Donegal, Ireland who, at one time held the Guinness World Record for the longest stand-up comedy show in 2009--with a running time of 36 hours and 15 minutes. Having earned several internationally recognized comedy awards since he began performing professionally in the early 1990s, Tiernan's comedic style has been described as blunt and controversial at times--owing much of his inspiration from the iconic American comedian Lenny Bruce. Consistently featured in America on the Late Show With David Letterman, Tommy Tiernan, despite some run-ins with controversy, remains one of Ireland's most internationally respected stand-up comedians.
