Saxophonist, guitarist and jazz vocalist Curtis Stigers originally pursued rock music but found an affinity for jazz. After he graduated high school, Stigers moved to New York and began playing and singing with a jazz trio, incorporating elements of both soul and rock music into his compositions. He was signed by Arista Records and released his self-titled debut in 1991, and the multi-platinum album generated mass appeal with Stigers' blend of soft rock, jazz and soul. The album spawned arguably his most successful song, "I Wonder Why," which broke into the top ten of both the US and UK Singles Charts. His songs have been featured on hit shows such as Sons of Anarchy, which uses his 2009 track "This Life" as its theme song. While releasing solo albums, Stigers also found time to collaborate and performs with artists such as Elton John, Eric Clapton, Prince and Rod Stewart as a vocalist.
