The Polyphonic Spree is a symphonic pop rock band from Dallas that features a choir and an extensive instrumental repertoire. In 2000, lead singer Tim Delaughter began collaborating with a dozen other musicians and in only two weeks, The Polyphonic Spree created a 30 minute set and put on its distinctive white choir robes to perform with Bright Eyes and Grandaddy for its debut performance. After the successful show, another twelve musicians were added to the band and The Polyphonic Spree released The Beginning Stages of... The Polyphonic Spree in 2002. The band continued its prevalence throughout the decade, releasing its second album Together We're Heavy in 2004.
