Al Stewart is a Scottish folk-rock singer-songwriter that rose to fame during Britain's folk revival during the 60s and 70s. Stewart's musical persona reminds one of a traveling bard from times of yore, as much of his songs deal with great figures and historical events set to folk-rock music. Despite being best known for his hit 1976 single "Year of the Cat," Al Stewart is almost universally considered as one of, if not the, key figure in the development of British folk-rock.
