Rhett Miller is a singer/songwriter and musician who rose to recognition as the lead singer of Old 97's. After releasing his debut solo album, Mythologies, in 1989, he formed his long-time band in 1993 along with Murry Hammond, Ken Bethea and Philip Peeples, and together they captured an alternative country sound. After focusing on Old 97's for the better portion of the 1990s, he turned his attention to his own material and released his LP The Instigator, with a stripped back sound. Miller has since continued to record and perform with his band while also maintaining a successful solo career with records including 2012's The Dreamer.
