The Detroit-based rock band Electric Six is a six-piece outfit that creates music with a dash of metal, new wave, punk and garage rock influences. Formed in 1999 under the title The Wildbunch, the band adopted its new name and spent the first decade of its existence playing shows at local bars like the Old Miami and Gold Dollar in Detroit. After releasing its debut hit single "Danger! High Voltage" in 2003, the band earned widespread attention, particularly in the UK after the rumor got out that Jack White provided backing vocals on the track. Though the rumor was never confirmed or denied, Electric Six went on to release its first full-length album, Fire, later the same year before embarking on its first tour. The band went on to release several more albums of its disco, glam pop, arena rock music, including its 2008 record, Flashy.
