After the iconic reggae musician Derrick Morgan assembled a backing band to support him on his 2002 tour, he inadvertently laid the groundwork for a group that would arise at the conclusion of the tour. Traversing the country and playing in support of Morgan instilled within the musicians a strong sense of musical brotherhood and when the tour ended the members of the backing band decided to form their own group, dubbed The Aggrolites. Based out of Los Angeles, the group recorded its first album in 2003 and the reggae, ska-friendly sounds of the album helped establish the group as one of the more interesting and forward thinking dub acts of its generation.
